I'm a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach and I help others heal their mind and heal their body.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis more than fifteen years ago and healed with functional medicine principles. For the past eight years I have made it my mission to heal, learn, encourage, and educate others on how to do the same.

What is a health coach?

A health coach is a behavior change specialist not a nutritionist, therapist, or doctor. As a health coach, I am trained to help you change behaviors and to set realistic goals, so that you feel inspired, motivated, and ready to change your life in whatever way works for you.

Just a little bit about my journey

Krista Wade's Family

I'm a mother to a five and three year old, I've been married for ten years, and a health and wellness advocate for about eight years. I went to college for English then went back for Business Administration. After working in the financial industry for almost a decade I made the decision to be a stay-at-home mom. Having an autoimmune disease that left me disabled then healing myself with food I found my passion in helping others heal and live their best life.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis fifteen years ago at the age of seventeen. MS took over my entire life leaving me disabled. After seven years of living in fear, RRMS progressed into SPMS, and I was told I needed a wheelchair. Unable to accept that prognosis, I took my health into my own hands and started researching. I learned that autoimmune diseases are caused by the body attacking itself leaving you inflamed with a wide array of symptoms. I then learned about this amazing thing called Functional Medicine. Unlike conventional medicine treating the symptoms, Functional Medicine treats the cause and that’s exactly what I needed. Why have you been diagnosed, why are you inflamed, what are your intolerances, what needs to change?

When I look back on all of my doctors visits I was just told what I needed to do. No one, not the doctors or nurses, asked me what I could do to help myself. I had no clue what needed to change or if it would even help, but I had to try. That’s when I found a book called 'Minding My Mitochondria'. Dr. Terry Wahls' book really impacted me, because our stories were so similar, so I took a leap of faith. I knew nothing about healthy eating or being paleo, but I knew something needed to change.

As soon as I made these lifestyle changes, getting rid of things that were causing my body to be inflamed, I stopped having flares and my symptoms were reversing. I saw a quote by Dr. Wahls, "With autoimmune disease, the power to turn your life around rests not with your doctor, not with your pharmacist, not in a bottle of pills, but in your own hands. That’s scary, but incredibly empowering." and that is the truth. I was terrified to make these changes, but it ended up being the best decision I have ever made. That’s why I became a Functional Medicine Health Coach. I know how difficult it is to make these changes, but you are not alone. I truly believe you can and will change, and I am here to help, support, and guide you through this transformation. Whether you are living with an autoimmune disease, want to lose weight, or want to start eating clean, I am here to help. I believe in you!
